Find Yourself in Vienna

With Vienna as our backdrop, we will hold our annual existential summit: Limitations, Death and Grieving: Boundaries in Life and Therapy. Vienna has a fascinating history, beauty and grace. Walking the quaint cobblestone streets, one feels as if you are stepping back in time in a Victorian novel. Vienna was the home of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl. Yet with all its beauty and grandeur, there are lingering reminders of the human suffering and grief, remnants of past eras.

This seminar will weave the theme of Limitations, Death and Grieving with the history of this grand city. Walking in the footsteps of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl as the events of the war and it’s political and social struggles were unfolding. We will compare and contrast this with Vienna’s gorgeous architecture, world-renowned coffee houses and cafes and it’s cultural European elegance and grace.

Experiencing Vienna and the Viennese culture in the city where psychoanalysis and existential analysis was born is a unique and powerful experience. Explore how war, politics and historical events have impacted the culture, resilience, community, architecture and food and can give strength and hope to its people.

This course includes enlightening seminars with the acclaimed Analyst, Dr. Alfried Langle, We will explore, delight and inspire in the quaint and beautiful city of Vienna. Visiting famous coffee houses, walking the footsteps of Sigmund Freud and Victor Frankl, hiking the beautiful countryside, and experiencing the late summer vineyards, culminating in a meal together under the Austrian sky with home made regional food and wine!
