Mystical traditions and ancient systems of psycho-spiritual development
for our current times…

To cope in stressful times, we need a strong psychological toolkit to understand ourselves, our culture, and our clients. Kabbalistic teachings and Jungian psychology offer complimentery ideas and practices.

Jung discovered the mystical tradition of Kabbalah late in life and quickly realized that it paralleled his own psychological theories. Kabbalah teaches that we live in four worlds of consciousness, and we come to know the Self by exploring spiritual archetypes. Dreams and their many interpretations also play a significant role in this intersection of Kabbalah and Jungian thought.

In this course, we will discover the 2,000-year-old teachings of Kabbalah through both experiential and theoretical learning. The basis of our study is derived from archetypal dimensions of Biblical stories and learning how to apply them as models of psychological growth. Our journey will uncover and develop the philosophical and psychological significance of Kabbalistic symbols within human nature.

Carl Jung expressed that the kabbalistic writings “anticipated my entire psychology in the eighteenth century.”

The practices of modern-day Kabbalistic tradition can inform the understanding and clinical application of Jungian analytical psychology. Throughout this course, we will draw from ancient biblical dreams and learn how depth psychology is an extension of Kabbalah's ancient teachings. Through Kabbalistic psychology, we are taught to pay closer attention to our actions, emotions, intellect, and spirit.
